INDCO's PhD-Series Tri-Clamp® Mount Direct-Drive Mixers with external mechanical seals are the clear choice for the most stringent sanitary low-viscosity mixing applications up to 750 liters.  Designed for the pharmaceutical, food and cosmetics industries, the 4" tri-clamp® attachment provides easy access to the vessel. The external dry-running mechanical seal is rated full vacuum to 200 psi with standard EPDM USP Class VI elastomers.  Our model PhD-150A4 is configured for a tank volume of approximately 500 liters.  The 1 1/2 HP air motor provides maximum agitation when supplied with 100 PSI @ 70 CFM.  See our air motor performance guide for operation at lower air flow.  The mixer shaft is 1" diameter by 36" long with two welded and polished 5", 3-blade square pitch propellers.  The seal housing, mounting flange and wetted parts are constructed of 316 stainless steel with a #4 buffed mirror finish.  Surface finishes as fine as 15Ra are available.  Documentation packages including drawings, material certifications, parts lists and certificates of conformance are provided.  Customizations can include stainless steel or non-lubricated air motors, alternate seal designs, tri-clamp® sizes, electropolished wetted parts, and multiple impeller options.  Impellers can be provided with set screws if preferred.  Call our engineers for application assistance or for a quote on available options.
